Established in 1991, we are one among the largest dry charged battery manufacturing companies in Middle East. We also manufacture calcium sealed maintenance free batteries. Originally set up in technical collaboration with world renowned battery manufacturers, Johnson Controls Battery Group, USA , the powerful backing of this world leader had benefited us by the application of “cutting-edge” technology to all our products. Our installed capacity is 1.75 million batteries per year.

We are the first battery manufacturing company in West Asia with ISO 9001:2000 certification testifying to our independent design capability and customer focus. We have also been certified under ISO 14001:2004 for confirming to the International Standards for Environmental Management and under OHSAS 18001:2007 certification for adhering to the requirements of the Occupational Health & Safety Administration Standards.

With exports accounting for around 90% of our sales, we are one of the top export performers in the Sultanate of Oman. In 2001, 2004, 2005 and 2008 we received “His Majesty’s Trophy” for being one of the best industrial companies in the Sultanate of Oman.

It is Reem Batteries and Power Appliances Co. SAOC (RB) Policy to conduct activities in a manner designed to minimise HSE risks, protect the health and safety of employees, contractors, customers, the community at large and the environment in which the company activities are conducted.

RB believes that good HSE performance will contribute and determine the success of the business and will treat HSE as an integral part of the business and with the same importance as other business goals.

Reem Batteries Will:

  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations and apply Internationally recognised Standards where local laws and regulations do not exit.
  • Hold all levels of line management accountable for HSE issues.
  • Promote Participation and consultation of employees on activities related to Occupational Health, Safety and Environment
  • Undertake appropriate reviews and evaluations of HSE management system and measure performance against defined standards, to ensure compliance and continual improvement.
  • Provide appropriate HSE Training to employees.
  • Develop and maintain HSE emergency procedures.
  • Manage all risks to a level, which is “As Low as Reasonably Practicable “(ALARP)
  • Openly report HSE performance and ensure lessons are learned.
  • Control and manage all chemical, physical. biological, mechanical and psychosocial factors, which contribute to health risks.
  • Strive to protect and promote the health of all employees and contractors.
  • Progressively reduce emissions, effluents and wastes and improve efficient use of natural resources and energy.
  • Minimise the impact of RB activities on the environment.

Our Products:

Our range is one of the widest with 180 types of batteries from 26 Ah to 230 Ah catering to the Japanese, European, Korean and American vehicles.

The company markets its products under several different brand names viz. Antara (Antara, Antara Hybrid, Antara Gold), Gulfstar (Gulfstar, Gulfstar Gold), Gulfracer and Charger in addition to a host of private labels.

The products are custom designed to meet the requirements of specific markets. The Antara family of brands sold in the Gulf is designed for extreme heat and harsh conditions, whereas the brands sold in Europe are designed for cold and temperate climates.

Our expertise in battery technology has made us the preferred suppliers of batteries to the Defence Forces in:

- Sultanate of Oman
- United Arab Emirates
- Qatar
- Kingdom of Bahrain
- United Kingdom
- NATO Forces
- Cyprus Armed Forces

Our design capabilities led to developing special battle tank batteries, which were earlier being imported from Europe. Apart from our presence in the aftermarket, we are also dubbed as ‘Manufacturer’s Manufacturer’ as we are the preferred suppliers to other internationally reputed battery manufacturers in Europe, to supplement their range.


The UPS division is in the business of ‘Power Protection’ equipments, viz. ‘UPS systems’ and accessories, SMF and other types (not manufactured in our facility) of batteries and other accessories related to these.

With our own ‘REEM’ brand UPS systems, introduced in 2007, this division is planning to address, apart from the Home market, the huge export market in line with our Automotive Battery division.

The technology of this REEM brand of UPS systems is from one of the largest manufacturer of UPS systems in the world, based at TAIWAN, equipped with products ranging from desktop 600VA to High end modular / rack-mountable 120kVA for mission critical applications.

The first batch of Our REEM UPS systems has already found their places in banks, Govt. and other sectors in OMAN along with exports to few neighboring countries during last year,.

Apart from our own REEM Brand UPS systems, we are also an approved and enlisted supplier of UPS systems (GE make) to PDO (Petroleum Development OMAN), OGC (OMAN GAS CO.) and many other organizations in OMAN for more than a decade
