We are all here on earth to help others; what on earth the others are here for I don't know.
W. H. Auden
Jewelry has the power to be this one little thing that can make you feel unique.

The winners have been announced for the Bee Breeders Tokyo Pop Lab architecture competition. The competition brief called for the design of a new program for the study and production of pop culture media. The unique and original nature of the brief resulted in submissions varying considerably, from fairly pragmatic to completely ideological.
The winning submissions were chosen for their well considered definition of popular culture, the clarity of their representation, and their clear concept of the structure of the laboratory’s program.
The first place winners are a team from Italy whose project consisted of two large cubes placed in opposing corners of the site, lifted above the ground plane, and rejoined with an elevated walkway.

Jerin Scott loves creating unique vintage inspired jewelry for those with a wistful affection for the past. Each piece is designed in Jerin’s home studio in Aransas Pass, TX. With a degree in Accounting from Texas A&M University, Jerin spent the first 10 years after college in the hustle and bustle of Corporate America. However, she always dreamed of a more creative career that would give her the flexibility to spend more time with her husband and their two children. Her jewelry business, formally known as Out of the Blue, was founded in 2007 after a leap-of-faith escape of the 9-to-5 life. Jerin’s designs have had worldwide success, being sold in 27 countries so far. Her jewelry has been featured in Country Living Magazine, Venus Zine, and numerous blogs.

Six pieces of jewelry from the collection of notorious Ponzi schemer Bernard Madoff and his wife Ruth are going up for auction today, the U.S. Marshals Service said, more than seven years after Madoff’s $64 billion scam was uncovered.
The pieces, available at an online auction hosted from Texas, include a bracelet studded with more than 650 diamonds starting at over $21,000, an emerald necklace starting at $15,300, a leaf brooch with nearly 100 diamonds starting at $11,050, two sleek, gold watches each starting at more than $21,000 and a gold money clip in the shape of a paperclip starting at $380, according to the auction website.
Though Madoff was arrested more than seven years ago, officials are still attempting to track down the money he stole in his decades-long Ponzi scheme — including recouping some losses from major auctions. Previously, Madoff’s houses and yachts were sold or auctioned off for tens of millions.
eVolo Magazine has announced the winners of its 2015 VMODERN Furniture Design Competition. The award recognizes innovative design and creates a forum for the discussion and development of the discipline.
The first place was awarded to I-Ting Tsai, Xixi Zheng, Yiru Yun, and Somdatta Majumdar from the United Kingdom for the design of Fabric Chair.
This project is an investigation on the use of fabric as a structural material in furniture design. A special resin was developed to harden fabric placed on a rigid mold. The resin hardens the fabric to become structural while retaining its softness in specific locations.
